Grand Old Day celebrates 35 years on Sunday, June 1, 2008!
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
There are exciting plans underway for this year’s event, including:

* International District with cultural arts and performance including African dance and drumming, Irish dance, Native American dance, didgeridoo and Tibetan throat singing, Latin music and more!

* Sporting District which will include fun activities like the Strongest Man and Woman on Grand competition and a Saints batting clinic.

* Art District featuring local and regional artists in the Grand Old Day Art Fair.

* Family Fun Zone filled with a petting zoo, inflatable bounce houses, pony rides and Teen Battle of the Bands.

* Entertainment District with seven live music and festival gardens.

* The Parade is switching directions and will begin at Fairview and end at Dale. The theme is "Flashback to the 70's" to commemorate Grand Old Day's 35th Anniversary! Judges will award a trophy to the best float/parade unit.

St. Paul's first rite of summer takes place along the city’s historic Grand Avenue annually on the first Sunday in June. Grand Old Day is produced by the Grand Avenue Business Association as its annual fundraiser. Monies colleted at the event go towards marketing the Avenue, six additional events, business-to-business opportunities and avenue beautification.
