GENERAL INFORMATION
Grand Old Day, St. Paul's first rite of summer, takes place along the city's historic Grand Avenue annually on the first Sunday in June. Grand Old Day is produced by the Grand Avenue Business Association as its annual fundraiser. Monies collected at the event go towards marketing the Avenue, annual events, business-to-business opportunities and avenue beautification.

COST: Grand Old Day is free to attend. To gain admittance to the festival gardens a wristband/ticket is required and festival garden guests must be 21+. Wristbands are $10 each and are available in advance by clicking here, or on the day of at Wristband Booths located near each festival garden. Advance purchases include a free download of the Grand Old Day Music Sampler. Valid ID must be presented at the wristband booth at the time of purchase or will-call booth at the time of pick-up - no exceptions. Your wristband gets you into all 7 festival garden/stages during Grand Old Day.
 
FOOD & BEVERAGE: For 2010, all street vendors selling food & beverage will be accepting food tickets only -  no cash. Look for the 17 ticket booths located along Grand Avenue to purchase your food tickets. Tickets will be sold in sheets of 8 for $5. One dollar from each sheet of tickets purchased goes to support Grand Old Day and the Grand Avenue Business Association.
 

 
GETTING HERE: Grand Old Day guests are encouraged to carpool, walk, bike and take public transportation.

Over 140 new bike parking spaces have been installed along Grand Avenue for convenient bike parking!
 
COMMUTER CHALLENGE:
Challenge your friends to take Metro Transit, share a ride, bike or walk to Grand Old Day through the Commuter Challenge - visit www.mycommuterchallenge.com. Stop by the Commuter Challenge booth on the Ayd Mill bridge to video tape your own challenge.
 
DRIVING DIRECTIONS:
From Interstate 94, take the Snelling, Hamline, Lexington or Dale exits and travel south. It's less than a mile to Grand Avenue.  From 494 take the Highway 5 exit towards St. Paul.  Highway 5 will turn into West 7th.  Turn left on Snelling or Lexington and follow north to Grand Avenue. PARKING:
Free parking is available in the University of St. Thomas parking lots at Grand & Cretin. If you park on the street be sure to closely read the signs for parking restrictions and permit parking areas. Please respect our neighbors.
 
FREE SHUTTLE:
10am-6pm  Free shuttle rides will be available to Grand Old Day guests along Summit Avenue between Cretin & Dale. Shuttles will pick up at the St. Thomas lots at Grand & Cretin and will stop along Summit on the corners of Cretin, Fairview, Saratoga, Syndicate, Oxford, Victoria, Grotto & Dale.
 

 
PETS: Grand Avenue loves pets, but due to the large crowds and high level of activity during Grand Old Day, we ask that you leave your pets at home. Please join us during Paws on Grand on Sunday, August 1 - a day for your pets to be pampered and celebrated all along Grand Avenue!
